Vice President of Arizona Programs
Chris A. Banken is the vice president of Arizona Operations for Sequel Youth Services. In 1990, he began his career in the behavioral health field at a program in Minnesota. After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice at Moorhead State University, Chris relocated to Arizona, where he worked for the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections. Since 1998, he has overseen community-based programs for adolescents in Arizona. Chris joined Sequel in January 2004 as the executive director of Mingus Mountain Academy, a residential treatment center and two therapeutic group homes. As the vice president of Arizona Operations, in addition to his duties at Mingus Mountain Academy, Chris also manages SequelCare of Arizona, a community-based program with services ranging from outpatient clinics, in-home services, telepsychiatry, adolescent and adult group homes and foster care. In addition, Chris directs three outpatient clinics and community-based services across the Navajo Nation.
